SACRAMENTO, Ca., May 21, 2013 – More than 500 consumers and business owners took advantage of Better Business Bureau’s two free paper shredding events this spring, shredding nearly 18 tons of sensitive documents.
The events in Sacramento and Stockton offered paper shredding services for free to those with sensitive documents in need of proper disposal.

. Attendees shredding more than three boxes of documents were encouraged to donate to the Boys and Girls Club of Sacramento. The generosity of the 275 attendees resulted in $1,166 donated to the organization.
In Stockton, BBB, Community Bank of San Joaquin
and Pacific Shredding
worked together to assist 230 consumers in shredding 11.4 tons of paper. Those shredding more than 5 boxes or bags of paper were encouraged to donate to the Stockton Police Youth Activities. Through the generosity of those in attendance, SPYA raised almost $600.
